Moncton Overcomes 2 HRs from Skiba, Tops Jacksonville in Extras for 1-0 Series Lead
When the games really matter, the Moncton Mounties put on their best show, beating the Jacksonville Nationals by a final score of 11-10. Dan Skiba was 3 for 6 with 2 home runs and a walk, while adding 5 RBI and scoring twice. Moncton now leads Jacksonville 1-0 in the best-of-7 affair.

Batting in the bottom of the 12th, 18-year old right fielder Marc Alexander had a real shot to win the game. Jacksonville pitcher Danny Espinoza was determined not to let it happen. But with no outs, Alexander hit a run-scoring single. The Mounties had a walk-off triumph.

"We battled our tails off to get this win," said Moncton manager Johnny Hoffman.

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Mapleton Yards in Moncton.
