Dean Blasts Admirals, Partons Take Game 3, 6-5
|
Riding the 3-hit performance of third baseman Matt Dean, the Dollywood Partons got a road win against the Barrie Admirals, 6-5, in Game 3 of the Division Series. Dean was 3 for 5 with 2 home runs, while scoring 3 times and driving in 3 for the Partons, who now lead the best-of-7 series, 2 games to 1.
Dollywood won the game in part because of Lance Parrent. The first baseman ripped a run-scoring double in the top of the eighth inning to put the Partons ahead, 6-5. For the game, Parrent had 1 double and 1 home run in 4 at-bats.
"You need to show up when your number's called," said Parrent.
The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Stadia de Leones in Barrie.
