Admirals, Partons Play 12 to Settle Game 1, Barrie Now Leads Series 1-0
One game in and the Division Series is already looking exhausting.

The Barrie Admirals and the Dollywood Partons needed 12 innings to settle Game 1, with the Admirals finally taking the 6-3 victory at Dolly Parton Ballpark. Excelling in the win was Barrie pitcher Ben Gallegos, who threw 5.1 innings of 2-hit ball. The Admirals and Partons are playing a best-of-7 series.

David Nevarez came through with a big-time hit for Barrie. The third baseman smacked a 3-run home run in the top of the 12th inning to give his team the lead, 6-3. It was his only hit, but it was clutch.

"It's true for every sport, I think, but the playoffs are so short that you've just got to get in and get hot," Barrie manager Manny Uset told BNN after the win. "We took care of the first part and now we're just working on the second."

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Dolly Parton Ballpark in Pigeon Forge.
