Almost There: Glace Bay On Cusp of DS Triumph After 8-2 Win
The Glace Bay Miners moved to within one game of the League Championship Series, downing the visiting Grand Rapids Jet Hawks at Miners Memorial Park by a score of 8-2. Miners right-hander Luis Cortez had a strong outing in which he threw 6.0 innings of 3-hit ball. The win gives the Miners a 3-1 advantage in the best-of-7 Division Series.

The Miners picked up the win with a combination of good hitting and good pitching.

"I found a nice groove out there," said Cortez.

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Miners Memorial Park in Glace Bay.
