Almost There: Grand Rapids On Cusp of DS Triumph After 8-4 Win
The Grand Rapids Jet Hawks moved to within one game of the League Championship Series, downing the visiting Santa Rosa Desperados at Jet Hawks Ballpark by a score of 8-4. Jet Hawks shortstop Matthew Robertson did some major damage. He went 2 for 3 with a home run and 2 walks, while scoring 2 times. The win gives the Jet Hawks a 3-1 advantage in the best-of-7 Division Series.

The Jet Hawks benefited from a costly error in the bottom of the fifth. With Ben Porter at bat and Grand Rapids leading 1-0, the Santa Rosa miscue allowed Grand Rapids to plate 1 and take the lead, 2-0.

"It was a good day but I'm not letting my guard down," Porter said. "I'll let my guard down as soon as someone puts a big, fat championship ring on my finger."

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Jet Hawks Ballpark in Grand Rapids.
