|
The Portland Mad Ants beat the El Paso Chupacabras, 5-4, at Chupacabras Stadium. Portland left fielder Felipe Hinojos had the hot bat. He was 2-4 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 2 times and driving in 2. Portland pitcher Troy Zufelt got the win. He's now 1-1. Lorenzo Villarreal was tagged with the loss. The loss drops El Paso to 6-6.
Hinojos had a timely hit for Portland in the top of the seventh. With Portland trailing 4-3, he turned a 1-1 fastball into a 2-run home run. It was his 2nd home run of the season, making it 5-4, Portland.
"I felt good about my swing," said Hinojos.
