Lubbock starter Jonathan Glover put the Portland offense in a vise grip. The right-hander relied heavily on his splitter in leading the Stampede to a 5-0 win. Glover, the winner, moves to 2-1. He threw 6.2 innings of 4-hit ball, while fanning 7 and giving up 1 walk. Gabe Calloway locked down his 1st save.

The Stampede got a big at-bat from second baseman Ângelo Sedas. For the game, Sedas was 1 for 4 with a home run and a walk. In the top of the second, with the bases empty, he stroked a solo home run. His 2nd home run of the season gave Lubbock a 1-0 lead.

Sedas attributed the win to his team's "grittiness."

The Mad Ants fall to 4-8 and continue their wobbly start to the 2022 season.
