In a tight tilt between the Fremont Marshalls and the Glendale Muskies, Mike Stack was the deciding factor. The Fremont left-hander spearheaded the 3-2 win. The winning pitcher was Stack, now 1-1. He tossed 8 innings of 5-hit ball, while walking 3 and fanning 6. Jonathan Reeher earned the save, his 2nd, for the Marshalls.

With scoring opportunities rare, the Marshalls had to cash in when they had the chance. One such opportunity presented itself in the bottom of the third, when right fielder Collin Mays hit a run-scoring single. The single came off Terry Droubay and made the score 3-0, Marshalls. Mays went 2-4 with 2 singles.

"We had the game right there for the taking," said Glendale manager Jon Greenberg. "But we decided not to take it."

The loss has the Muskies at 4-7.
