Chupacabras Send Portland Home with 7-1 Loss
The Portland Mad Ants had to reckon with El Paso Chupacabras hurler Miles Hurlbut. Hurlbut overwhelmed the opposition in the 7-1 Chupacabras triumph. The winner was Hurlbut. He threw 6.2 innings of 4-hit ball. The loser was Oscar Orduno. The triumph makes El Paso 6-4, as the team begins another long trek toward the playoffs in 2025.

The Chupacabras got a big at-bat from third baseman Mike Townsend. For the game, Townsend went 1-4 with a home run, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. In the bottom of the fourth, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 1st home run of the season gave El Paso a 2-1 lead.

"I'm just looking to see the ball, hit the ball," said Townsend.
