Royals Walk It Off for 9th Win of Season
The Montreal Royals topped the Portland Mad Ants by a score of 6-3. Leading the way was right fielder Blake Stangle. Stangle hit 2 home runs. He drove in 5 runs and scored twice for the Royals. Montreal reliever Eric Alley was the winner. His record is now 1-0. Kevin Kovach took the loss. The Royals, now 9-2, have been playing some good baseball.

The game was decided with no one out in the bottom of the ninth. With Montreal trailing 3-2, Stangle jumped on a fastball from 29-year old left-handed pitcher Kevin Kovach and hit a grand slam home run to center. With one swing, the Royals had a walk-off win.

"Drama and more drama," said Royals manager Bobby White. "That's baseball at its finest."
