Slumping Marshals Lose 6th Straight
|
Hartford Matadors starter Alberto Renteria pitched well against the Baxter Springs Marshals at Marshals Ballpark, leading his team to a win, 5-2. Ken Yates was credited with the save for Hartford, his 3rd of the season. Baxter Springs now has a record of 3-7.
The Matadors used some clutch hitting to beat the Marshals, a good example being the at-bat of Brian Brockman in the top of the ninth. With two down, Brockman gave his team the lead, 4-2, when he hit a 2-run single.
"We had some nice at-bats at the right time," said Matadors manager Jesse Heugly.
