The inspired effort of Hartford left fielder A.J. Cook was not enough to prevent a loss, 5-4, to the Nashville Lasers. Cook was 2 for 3 with a home run. He drove in 4 runs and scored once. Nashville reliever Donny Bisesi picked up the win, raising his record to 1-0. Chris Runte was tagged with the loss. With the win, Nashville elevates its record to 5-5.

Nashville needed the clutch hitting of Daniel Beiler to notch the win. The catcher hammered a 3-run home run in the top of the eighth inning to put the Lasers on top, 5-4. For the game, Beiler had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.

"It takes a lot of things to win a ballgame," said Nashville manager Kenny McElhaney. "It's usually not just one thing."
