The Lubbock Stampede beat the Montreal Royals, 5-3. Lubbock pitcher and Puerto la Cruz, Venezuela, native Ramon Landa led the way. Landa yielded 1 run over 7 innings to notch the win. He scattered 10 hits, walked 0, and struck out 8. His record improves to 1-1. Nick Wolfe earned his 3rd save, after closing out the game.

In the bottom of the second, Lubbock catcher Noah Wilcox had a productive at-bat. With the bases loaded and one out, Wilcox stroked a 2-run single to center. It made the score 2-0, Lubbock. For the game, he went 1-4. He drove in 2 runs.

"It was a solid team effort," said Landa after the game.
