Nashville pitcher Pat Higginbotham did his part in helping his team defeat the Chesapeake Tailgators, 2-1. The opposition could never get too much going against the right-hander. The loss drops Chesapeake to 4-7.

Had Marcos Valle not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and the bases loaded, Valle hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 2-1, in favor of the Lasers.
