Montreal Tumbles Again, Falls, 3-1, to Baxter Springs
|
In a low-scoring affair between the Baxter Springs Marshals and the Montreal Canadiens, pitcher Jon Hoffman was the difference between victory and defeat. The Baxter Springs left-hander earned accolades for his stellar performance in the 3-1 Marshals win. Josh Gatto earned the save, his 4th. Baxter Springs goes to 5-5.
Art MacDonald hit a 2-run home run off Greg Brand in the bottom of the first, which put the Marshals ahead, 2-0. In addition to the homer, MacDonald had 1 double, while going 2 for 3.
"We made a couple of mistakes," said Montreal skipper , "and it cost us."
