Ghosts Rally Late to Clip Chesapeake
|
The Laredo Ghosts racked up a win at Ghosts Ballpark, bumping off the Chesapeake Tailgators, 4-3, in 10 innings. Andy Firkins, who started for Laredo, pitched effectively for his team. Butch Saulters, now 1-0, picked up the win in relief. He allowed 1 run on 2 hits in 2 innings. The win gives Laredo a record of 4-3.
The Ghosts got a clutch hit from shortstop Marcus Walkden. In the bottom of the tenth, he hit a run-scoring single to right-center, to win the game for the Ghosts.
After the game, Laredo manager Josh Miller applauded the team's effort. "They busted their humps out there," he said.
