Tailgators Suffer 4-3 Home Defeat
|
The Baxter Springs Marshals picked up a win at Tailgators Ballpark, taking down the Chesapeake Tailgators, 4-3. Starting pitcher Edilberto Jabillo was a big reason why. Jabillo, the winner, moves to 2-0. He threw 6.2 innings of 3-hit ball, while fanning 9 and giving up 3 walks. Kevin Miller closed it out for his 2nd save.
Baxter Springs used the timely hitting of Matt Bellavance to seize the win. The catcher stroked a 2-run single in the top of the seventh inning to put the Marshals on top, 4-1. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"Edilberto is a tough competitor," said Baxter Springs manager Justin Watts.
The win takes Baxter Springs to 4-3.
