Jesters Rebuff Tailgators, 4-2

The Joilet Jesters defeated the Chesapeake Tailgators, 4-2, at Ballpark of Joilet. Joilet was led by 25-year old third baseman Tamiela Kalolo, who went 3 for 4 with a home run and 2 singles. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. Jake Triplett went 6.1 innings, allowing 1 run on 5 hits. The left-hander struck out 5 and walked 1. With the win, he ups his record to 1-0 this season. Sean Rowe earned the save for Joilet, his 3rd.
There was more than one reason the Jesters beat the Tailgators, but Kalolo's big at-bat in the bottom of the first was an important factor. He staked his team to a 1-0 lead when he hit a run-scoring single.
Kalolo attributed the win to "concerted effort and focus."
The win takes Joilet to 5-2.
