The Hartford Matadors topped the Portland Mad Ants, 10-6, in Stars Conference action at Mad Ants Ballpark. The game was highlighted by the performance of Hartford pitcher Danny Rivas. Hartford is now 2-3.

Austin Alpers had an important at-bat. With two out in the top of the second, he hit a 3-run home run. His 2nd home run of the season put Hartford on top, 6-0.

Alpers told a local reporter: "My job is to go out and play as hard as I can."
