Tailgators Pull Out Late Win, 7-6
|
Dave Wilson did all he could to help his team win. In the end, though, it wasn't enough to keep the Hartford Matadors from being beaten, 7-6, to the Chesapeake Tailgators at Tailgators Ballpark. Wilson went 3 for 4 with 2 doubles. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. Chesapeake reliever John Gray picked up the win. Fernando Garcia took the loss for Hartford. Hartford now has a record of 4-2.
Mike Johnson delivered a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the bottom of the ninth to win it for the Tailgators. For the game, Johnson drew 1 walk in 5 plate appearances.
"Honestly, I'm not frustrated," said Hartford manager Jesse Heugly. "The effort was great."
