Stampede Hold Off Governors, 4-3

Fans of the Lubbock Stampede who packed the stands for the home opener were rewarded with a Lubbock win over the visiting Little Rock Governors, 4-3. Jonathan Glover started for the home team against Mel Duran. Jonathan Glover earned accolades for his performance. Glover got the win, improving to 1-0. He allowed 1 hit and walked 6 over 7 innings. Glover allowed 2 runs.
In the bottom of the first inning with one out, Lubbock designated hitter Jaime Mendoza hit a 3-run home run. It made the score 3-0, Stampede. For the day, Mendoza was 1 for 3 with a home run and a walk, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once.
"Throwing strikes was the main thing," Glover said.
