Ghosts Ballpark was the site of the home opener for the Laredo Ghosts. The contest featured a prime matchup between Alex Martinez of the visiting Chesapeake Tailgators and Vic Lucero of the Ghosts. The final score was 6-4, the Tailgators getting the win. Juichi Okuyama turned in the best performance. Earning his 1st save of the year was Luis Najera.

Mike Johnson, who was drafted in the 3rd round of the 2023 draft, aided the Chesapeake cause with a run-scoring double in the top of the sixth. For the game, the left fielder went 2-4 with a double and a walk.
