Gangsters Drop Fire, 4-3

With third baseman Gary Draeger leading the charge, the Chicago Gangsters defeated the San Francisco Fire, 4-3, at The Hideout. Draeger, who leads the AC in stolen bases with 56, went 2-3 with a triple and a walk, while scoring 2 runs. Andy Bennett snagged the win in relief. He goes to 1-0 on the season. Tom Tchida suffered the loss. The Gangsters raised their record to 39-65.
With Chicago leading 3-1 in the bottom of the fourth, Draeger hit a run-scoring single off San Francisco hurler Tom Tchida. It was the 98th hit of the season for Draeger and put his team ahead, 4-1.
"It's nice to step up when your team needs you," said Draeger.
