Gangsters Earn Win with Late Rally
Conditions were not ideal but Chicago and Boston were able to put their game in the books.

The Chicago Gangsters had to overcome a fine effort from Boston pitcher Matthew Rowlands to win, 5-4, at Whislters Park. Rowlands went 6 innings and allowed no runs. The winner in relief was Nate McClaskey. The right-hander allowed no runs on 3 hits in 2 innings. He now owns a record of 3-1. Keith Kramer wrapped it up, recording his 16th save.

Chicago used the clutch hitting of Billy Manuele to snag the win. The third baseman drilled a 2-run home run in the top of the ninth inning to put the Gangsters ahead, 5-4. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a crucial one.

"We're all about heart and hustle on this team. That's what wins ballgames," Manuele told the Chicago Herald.

With the win, Chicago has a record of 36-63. Boston falls to 51-48.
