Oaks, Crawdads Play 13 to Settle Game 3, Orono Now Leads Series 2-1

When the games really matter, the Orono Oaks put on their best show, beating the Hickory Crawdads by a final score of 3-2. Jeff Weingart came in in relief and pitched to 19 batters. Orono now leads Hickory 2-1 in the best-of-7 affair.
Orono got a knockout punch from Pete Roan. The third baseman hammered a solo home run in the bottom of the 13th inning to win the game. It might've been his only hit, but it decided the outcome.
"Extras are exciting for the fans, but they are tough for the visitors because every time they're at the plate, they can end it with one swing," said Crawdads manager Ray Sanchez.
The next game is set to be played tomorrow at University of Maine Stadium in Orono.
