Road Win Lifts Joilet to 2-1 Lead in DS
|
With starter Brian Norfolk leading the charge, the Joilet Jesters defeated the Portland Mad Ants, 3-2, in Game 3 of the Division Series. The right-hander threw 7.1 innings of 5-hit ball at Mad Ants Ballpark to help Joilet take a 2-1 lead in the best-of-7 series.
Zach Williard, who was drafted in the 2nd round of the 2019 draft, had a direct impact on the outcome. Williard contributed a 2-run home run in the top of the second inning to put Joilet up, 2-1.
"We busted our tails," said Portland manager Will Berman. "But we came up short."
The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Mad Ants Ballpark in Portland.
