Scorpions Topple Giants, 12-6, as Cruz Shines
The Syracuse Scorpions defeated the Detroit Giants, 12-6, at Scorpion Stadium. Leading the charge for Syracuse was second baseman Alex Cruz. He went 3 for 5 with a home run and 2 doubles, while scoring 2 and driving in 5. Mike Kelley earned his 4th save, after closing out the game. Syracuse is 26-61 and Detroit, with the loss, 49-38.

The game turned with one out in the bottom of the fourth when Cruz hit a 2-run double. It thrust the Scorpions into the lead, 7-5.

"Getting a lot of baserunners and getting some timely hits, it's a good combination," said Cruz.
