Sikeston Moves on to League Championship Series
Thursday, September 18th , 2025
The Sikeston Shamrocks are heading to the League Championship Series, having narrowly defeated the Montgomery Missions.
Sikeston edged Montgomery in the series 4-3, with a win at Missions Grove in the clinching game by a 11-7 margin.
Mark Crawford turned in a strong offensive performance for the Shamrocks and got series MVP for his efforts.
"I'll never turn down another trophy for my mantle, another accomplishment to remember once my career is over," he said. "What I would really remember, though, is a World Series win."
It remains to be seen how the playoffs will conclude, but if Crawford continues to swing a hot bat, his team will no doubt have a chance.
For the series, he hit .538 with a .647 on-base percentage. He had 0 home runs, 4 RBI and scored 11 runs.
The Sikeston Shamrocks will play against the Santa Barbara Super Troopers in the next round. Santa Barbara won their series against the Mt. Vernon Cyclones 4 games to 1. The League Championship Series schedule will be announced after the Division Series finishes.
