Wichita Tops Medford Monday, October 5th , 2026 The Wichita Panthers earned their 1st World Series title and now have all winter to spend basking in the glory, while the beaten Medford Desperados will have plenty of time to wonder what went wrong. Wichita became the ABA Class A- champion for 2026 with a 10-4 triumph to capture the series 4-1. "Both clubs are talented. We just made fewer mistakes than they did," winning manager Ross Meister said to the press corps at the postgame press conference. "We made the crucial plays and got the timely hits." Medford skipper Noah Alexander agreed with that assessment, saying his club turned out to be "a little weak on fundamentals" at crucial times. "I have a sneaking suspicion we will be working on fundamentals a lot next spring," he said. On the way to the World Series championship, the Panthers ended up in second place in the Sub League 2 Central Division and compiled a 76-64 record during the regular season.
