Medford Moves on to World Series
Friday, September 25th , 2026
The championship aspirations of the Medford Desperados are still alive and well, while the Santa Ana Black Aces are left to wait until next year.
Medford won the clinching game of the League Championship Series 7-3 over Santa Ana at Ballpark of Medford, to win the series 4-1.
"You feel like a little kid again, celebrating something like this," said catcher Omar Castillo, who paced the Medford offense and was named series MVP. "We take everything real seriously when we're on the field, but after a series is over you can finally relax a little bit."
Castillo claimed the MVP by racking up 8 hits for a .471 average, with a .500 on-base percentage. He had 0 home runs, 4 RBI and scored 2 runs.
The Medford Desperados don't know who they will face in the next round. They will play the winner of the Wichita Panthers - Newport News Wranglers series. That series is tied at 2 games apiece. The World Series schedule will be announced after the League Championship Series finishes.
