Corpus Christi Wins Division Series
|
The sweet swing of Gary Draeger has led his team through the Division Series.
The Corpus Christi Mermen star earned series MVP honors as his club downed the Encinitas Eskimo Brothers to advance to the League Championship Series.
The Mermen won the final game at EBDBBNB Park by a score of 5-0 and the series 4-3.
"I'm seeing the ball well and happy to contribute to a win," said Draeger. "I hope it continues for the rest of the playoffs."
For the series, Draeger hit .417 with a .481 on-base percentage. He had 1 home runs, drove in 6 RBI and scored 4 runs.
The Corpus Christi Mermen will play against the Winchester Mountaineers in the next round. Winchester won their series against the Riverside Rotters 4 games to 2. The League Championship Series schedule will be announced after the Division Series finishes.
