Harris Blisters Spring Park
Thursday, September 4th , 2025
It's not something you read about in the sports pages every day -- a 5-for-6 day. For many, it might come around only once in a career -- and for Johnny Harris, it came around today.
The 19-year-old center fielder scattered hits all over Ballpark of Spring Park to pace the 21-4 Mt. Vernon Cyclones victory over the Spring Park Green Knights.
Spring Park skipper Noah Lute told reporters in the press room that "Harris deserves a hat-tip."
"He hit some good pitches against us," he said. "In fact, according to our scouting reports, Harris hit several that he is not supposed to be able to hit."
Johnny Harris singled in the 1st, singled in the 2nd, hit an RBI single in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, flied out in the 6th and hit a two-run home run off Jim Unknown in the 8th.
In 79 games Harris is hitting .375 this season with 119 hits, 16 home runs, 65 RBIs, 20 walks, .415 OBP and has scored 69 runs.
