5-Hit Blitz by Nebeker Monday, July 1st , 2024 Steve Nebeker was at the head of a Pikeville hit parade at Cavalry Grounds. The left fielder went to the plate 7 times and came away with 5 hits, sparking the Cavalry to a nice 34-4 victory over the Tacoma Thunder Wolves. "I told the guys in the dugout, just be thinking about hitting the ball hard somewhere," the sweet-swinging Nebeker told reporters after the game. "Seems like it worked out well for us today." Thunder Wolves skipper Alfonso Estrada said later that the club gave up "too much plate." "Not the way we planned it," he said. "Every hitter in the league will rip you when you do that." Steve Nebeker singled in the 1st, doubled in the 1st, walked in a run in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, hit an RBI single in the 3rd, grounded out in the 4th, flied out in the 5th and hit an RBI single in the 7th.
