Pitcher Bill Thompson was rock solid in helping the Little Rock Golden Gophers beat the Ottawa Lynx, 2-1. The Sub League 1 Central Division-leading Golden Gophers have a record of 82-18.

Who knows how it would've ended, had it not been for Carlos Rodrigues? The 23-year old center fielder Rodrigues stroked a run-scoring double in the top of the ninth inning to put Little Rock up, 2-1. For the game, he was 3 for 4, including 1 double and 2 singles.
