Thurston Has Hot Hand, Bangs 5 hits Friday, May 24th , 2024 Justin Thurston had an answer for everything the Newport News Wranglers threw at him at Wranglers Stadium. The Spring Park first baseman went 5-for-6 in the game to put his name in the record book and give the Green Knights a win, 11-8. Summing up his batting philosophy to BNN writers after the game, Thurston said, "I just see the ball and I hit it." Justin Thurston singled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, singled in the 6th, grounded out in the 8th and hit a three-run home run off Jim Unknown in the 10th.
