Alpines Score Late to Upend Missions, 3-1
|
Brian Millet pitched well, but the Montgomery Missions still lost the game, falling, 3-1, to the Savannah Alpines at Alpines Stadium. Savannah sits in last place in the Sub League 2 East Division at 26-42.
Sean Welliver cracked a home run off Brian Millet in the bottom of the eighth. His 2-run blast put the Alpines on top, 3-1. In all, Welliver had 1 single in addition to the home run, while going 2 for 4.
"We put some tough at-bats on some tough pitches," said Savannah manager Ryan Allen.
