Carson City got a strong outing from Jon Ramirez as the Miners defeated the Newport News Wranglers, 4-2, at Miners Ballpark. Carson City now has a record of 45-23 with the win.

Ryan Richard went 1 for 4 for Carson City. The 21-year old left fielder had a key at-bat in the bottom of the fifth. With two out and the bases loaded, he broke a 1-1 tie with a run-scoring single off Alex Gonzales. It was his 8th hit of the season.

"Jon did a nice job," said Miners manager Nate West.
