Red-Hot Reich Cools Off Mt. Vernon

In a remarkable performance, Sikeston Shamrocks starter Jeremy Reich beat the Mt. Vernon Cyclones, 11-0, in an impressive 1-hit shutout.
"My arm felt good, mechanics were good and my stuff was working," he said later. "It doesn't get any better than this."
The Shamrocks hurler finished with 7 strikeouts and no walks. He showed pinpoint control and a sharp fastball.
"It was a rough one for my guys," Mt. Vernon manager Dan McClure said, following the game. "We weren't at our best and their guy was."
This year, Reich has fashioned a 4-4 mark, 3.09 ERA and pitched 64 innings. Opposing clubs are batting .239 against him and he has logged 46 strikeouts.
