Tanner Shuts Out Santa Fe College, 2-0
Friday, April 17th , 2026
The Santa Fe College Saints manager was philosophical in the clubhouse following a shutout loss to the Johnson County Community College Cavaliers. The Saints were overpowered by Johnson County Community College starter Pat Tanner, who hurled his club to victory, 2-0.
"It was just one of those games -- shake it off and do better next time," Mike Fisher said.
Over 9 innings, Tanner blanked Santa Fe College on 4 hits with 2 walks and 7 strikeouts.
"I kept them off balance. I could tell a lot of them were late on fastballs because they were fouling them off. Once you see that, it sets them up for other pitches," Tanner said.
"I set them up, where if they chased one breaking ball, they were going to chase another one."
On his stats sheet for the year Tanner shows a 6-2 record, 10 starts, 68.1 innings, 59 strikeouts and a 2.37 ERA.
