Moncton Wins Division Series Monday, September 16th , 2024 Many baseball pundits expected a close series in the Northern Conference Division Series. It turned out quite a bit different. The Moncton Mounties swept aside the Buffalo Bellflowers to advance to the League Championship Series, winning the final game by a 2-1 score at Mapleton Yards. The series MVP was first baseman Brian Evans, who hit .462 with a .588 on-base percentage. He had 1 home runs, drove in 3 RBI and scored 4 runs. "We expected this series to go right down to the wire, so to sweep is a bit of a surprise," he said. "But we'll take it." The Moncton Mounties don't know who they will face in the next round. They will play the winner of the Borrego Springs Rams - Whitby Bats series. Borrego Springs leads the series 2 games to 1.
