Great Day for Valenta -- 5 Hits
Wednesday, August 27th , 2025
A jubilant Bryan Valenta joined the postgame press conference at Ballpark of Haviland to offer some unusual words of encouragement -- for the Picture Rocks Raptors pitching staff he had just vanquished.
"It may not have looked like it," said the Haviland Thrashers first baseman, "but I saw some awful good pitches today. If luck hadn't been on my side it might have turned out a lot different."
That would not have been the conclusion of anyone who saw his dominant 5-for-6 hitting performance, which led to the 15-4 Thrashers win.
"He made it look easy," said Matt Walker, manager of the Raptors. "We never figured out what to do with him. Obviously."
Bryan Valenta doubled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, grounded out in the 4th, singled in the 6th, hit a two-run home run off Jim Unknown in the 8th and hit a two-run double in the 8th.
Valenta is swinging at a .395 pace on the year with 25 home runs, 71 RBIs and 64 runs scored. He has played in 64 games.
