Great Day for Johnson, Hits for Cycle
Tuesday, August 5th , 2025
Jimmy Johnson accomplished one of the rarer feats in baseball when he hit for the cycle against the Crystal Lake Killers in the 14-3 Jacksonville Nationals win at Killer Stadium.
Afterward, Johnson acknowledged that his accomplishment was special, but said he was more interested in helping the Nationals win.
"Maybe one day I'll look back on this with more meaning, but right now I just want to go out tomorrow and put some good swings on the ball and help my club win another game," Johnson said.
On his historic day, he went 4-for-5 with 3 runs batted in and 3 runs scored -- and also got a spot in the history books.
Jimmy Johnson doubled in the 1st, singled in the 2nd, walked in the 4th, hit an RBI triple in the 6th, flied out in the 8th and hit a two-run home run off Tomohito Tomoshino in the 9th.
In the current season, Johnson has put up a .388 batting average with 52 hits, 12 home runs, 33 RBI and scored 49 runs.
