Poth Wins NC 2022 Most Valuable Player Award
Monday, October 17th , 2022
At the age of 22, Dave Poth of the Terra Linda Chargers could very well have his best years ahead of him.
It's a startling thought when you consider the year he had in 2022 was good enough to win the left fielder the Northern Conference Most Valuable Player Award.
"See the ball, hit the ball," he said. "That's my basic approach."
The top hitter put up a .357 batting average this year, as well as a .415 on-base percentage. He played 129 games and racked up 185 hits, 32 doubles, 4 triples, 47 home runs, 123 RBIs and 110 runs scored.
He received 24 first place votes, as a unanimous winner. Mike Odendahl of the Saint Pierre and Miquelon Pirates finished second in voting, while Josh Walker of the Terra Linda Chargers finished third.
