Hit Streak for Raney Reaches 39

Moncton lost to the Buffalo Bellflowers, 4-3, at Wegman's Field, but David Raney kept his consecutive-game hitting streak alive with 1 hit. The Mounties third baseman has now delivered hits in 39 straight games.
"David has a nice streak going, but the scoreboard tells the important story today," Moncton manager Johnny Hoffman told reporters after the game. "We lost, no matter how many hits anyone had." David Raney struck out in the 1st, doubled in the 3rd, grounded out in the 5th, grounded out in the 7th and struck out in the 9th.
This season in 50 games, Raney is batting .463 with 24 home runs, 75 RBIs and has scored 65 times.
