Hit Streak Now at 25 for Melo
Thursday, June 13th , 2024
Alex Melo continued his streak at Wegman's Field, even as the ballgame did not go his way. The Buffalo third baseman was 2-for-4 in today's contest and now has hit safely in his last 25 games. The Bellflowers were not as fortunate, losing, 10-3, to the Abingdon Archers.
"Melo was hitting everything we threw at him," said Abingdon manager Roberto Enriquez. "He is a tough out. Fortunately, things went our way in the ballgame and we came away with a win." Alex Melo flied out in the 1st, hit a solo-shot off Jim Unknown in the 3rd, hit a two-run home run off Jim Unknown in the 5th and flied out in the 7th.
In his season totals, Melo has 22 home runs, .431 BA, .497 OBP, 75 RBIs and 74 runs scored. He has played in 61 games.
