Ferman Smacks 5 Hits for Cubs Wednesday, June 3rd , 2026 Hector Ferman exploded for a barrage of base hits at Franklin Park. The Franklin center fielder had a field day in his team's 18-17 triumph over the Saint Pierre and Miquelon Pirates, finishing 5-for-6. "My hitting philosophy is simple," he said. "I focus on just seeing the ball and I try to get a good pitch." Ferman must have focused at least 5 times and apparently got some good pitches, too, leading to one of his best days ever with the bat. Hector Ferman hit an RBI single in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, hit a two-run double in the 4th, singled in the 5th, walked in the 6th, flied out in the 7th and doubled in the 9th. So far this season, Ferman is batting .367 with 9 home runs, 38 RBIs and 36 runs scored. He has 65 hits in 177 at-bats, 27 walks and a .460 OBP. Ferman has played in 51 games.
