Sunday, May 12th , 2024
Chris Baker has been on a tear for several weeks, and his hitting streak just keeps getting longer. The 20-year-old Jacksonville Nationals right fielder extended his streak to 20 games, going 6-for-6 as Jacksonville got the best of the Corpus Christi Texans at Nationals Park, 14-13.
"Chris has been playing real well lately and we're proud of him," Nationals manager Zack Glomski said. Chris Baker singled in the 1st, doubled in the 4th, singled in the 5th, hit an RBI single in the 6th, singled in the 8th and hit a three-run home run off Jo Uehara in the 9th.
This year, Baker is hitting .475 with 48 hits, 9 home runs, 23 RBIs and has scored 31 runs.
