Buffalo pitcher Manny Velez did his part in helping his team beat the Lincoln Princes, 4-2. The right-hander kept opposing batters from doing too much damage. Pedro Tello snagged the win in relief. He goes to 2-2 on the season. Jim Unknown suffered the loss. Matt Drayton collected his 9th save.
Cesar Mena went 1 for 2 with a home run and 2 walks, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once against the Princes. With the game tied in the bottom of the seventh inning, he drew a walk, driving in 1 run that put Buffalo in front, 3-2.
Buffalo manager Andy Perez was pleased with the team's effort. "Our guys played hard," he said.
Lincoln now owns a losing streak of 5 games.
