Hit Parade: Swerdlove Pops 5 Hits Thursday, July 22nd , 2021 Tony Swerdlove was unstoppable, but the Long Island Torpedoes were not. Despite his hitting heroics at Wegman's Field, the Torpedoes lost, 5-4, to the Buffalo Bellflowers. Swerdlove battered Buffalo for 5 hits in 6 at-bats. His only consolation will be a boost in his batting average and a brief mention in the record book. Swerdlove just shook his head after the game, telling BNN reporters, "It's the team with the most runs that wins, not the most hits." Tony Swerdlove struck out in the 1st, doubled in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, doubled in the 8th, singled in the 10th and singled in the 11th.
