Virginia Takes Elite 8 in Deciding Game Thursday, May 14th , 2026 After their 5-2 win today over the Nebraska Cornhuskers, the Virginia Cavaliers will advance to the Final 4. Despite coming out on the losing side, the series MVP award went to Nebraska left fielder Greg Dunaway. Dunaway told a reporter from the Nebraska Citizen that he was disappointed in the loss, and hopes to be back next year competing for the College World Series Virginia won the series 2-1. The Virginia Cavaliers will play against the Michigan State Spartans in the next round. Michigan State won their series against the Louisville Cardinals 2 games to 0. The Final 4 schedule will be announced after the Elite 8 finishes. |
