Spartans Win Elite 8 Wednesday, May 13th , 2026 It was a sweet sweep for the Michigan State Spartans as they eased past the Louisville Cardinals to advance to the Final 4. Michigan State won the final game by a 10-1 count and the series 2-0. "We're just fortunate to get through it quickly and be able to rest up for the next series," said Bert O'Connell, who was named series MVP. For the series, O'Connell hit .556 with a .556 on-base percentage. He had 3 home runs, drove in 8 RBI and scored 4 runs. The Michigan State Spartans don't know who they will face in the next round. They will play the winner of the Nebraska Cornhuskers - Virginia Cavaliers series. That series is tied at 1 game each. The Final 4 schedule will be announced after the Elite 8 finishes. |
