Hit Parade: Blum Pops 5 Hits
Saturday, April 20th , 2024
It was a downpour of hits for Kyle Blum at Frank Myers Field at Tointon Family Stadium.
The Kansas State Wildcats left fielder tore into Baylor for 5 hits in 6 at-bats to pace the Wildcats to a rain-delayed 12-0 victory. Baylor manager Eddie Luis bemoaned his pitching, speculating his club got flustered by Blum's big day.
"He was beating us and we stopped locating well," he said. "That makes you get behind in the count and you can't do that when a guy is hot like Blum was today. Not to take anything away from him, but bad location was the story of the ballgame."
Kyle Blum singled in the 1st, singled in the 2nd, singled in the 3rd, doubled in the 5th, hit an RBI double in the 6th and grounded out in the 7th.
So far this season, Blum has put up a .267 batting average with 32 hits, 5 home runs and 14 RBIs.
