5-for-5 Day for Torres Saturday, May 30th , 2020 It doesn't happen very often, but it did for Mark Torres today -- a 5-hit effort. He went on a rampage at UC Baseball Stadium and paced the Bearcats to a 12-10 win over the Ohio State Buckeyes. After his dynamite batting performance, the Cincinnati right fielder told reporters that he "just tried to get in a good count and have a good at-bat. That's all I can control." His philosophy paid dividends today. He slammed 5 hits in 5 tries and put his name in the record book. Mark Torres singled in the 1st, singled in the 4th, hit an RBI single in the 5th, hit a GRAND SLAM off Tommy Pennock in the 6th and hit a solo-shot off Bob Price in the 8th. This season Torres is batting .407 with 12 home runs. |
