Bacon Goes Yard 3 Times
Wednesday, April 10th , 2024
It was a good day for the Florida State Seminoles and an exceptional one for Joe Bacon. The 20-year-old first baseman sent three bombs out of the park to help the Seminoles beat the Pittsburgh Panthers, 12-10, at Dick Howser Stadium.
"When you're in the zone, the game really slows down," Bacon said when asked about his performance later. "I couldn't even tell you what pitches were thrown. Today feels great, but it is a long season and tomorrow is another day."
For the day, he scored 4 times, drove in 9 runs and smacked 4 hits in 6 at-bats.
Joe Bacon flied out in the 1st, hit a three-run home run off Andy Gregory in the 3rd, grounded out in the 5th, hit a three-run home run off Scott Scheele in the 7th, hit a three-run home run off Noah Elston in the 8th and singled in the 11th.
In 27 games Bacon is hitting .330 this season with 33 hits, 7 home runs, 26 RBIs, 10 walks, .389 OBP and has scored 21 runs.
