Gators Advance to Final 4 Saturday, May 16th , 2020 The Florida Gators and Texas Tech Red Raiders didn't hold back anything in the Elite 8, with each team pulling out all the stops in an effort to advance to the Final 4. Florida won the final game by a score of 5-0 at Condron Ballpark and that concluded the series, 2-1. "Relief is the biggest thing," Florida third baseman Eric Milbrandt said when asked how he felt. "It's a grind both mentally and physically to have a long series like this, but our guys stuck with it and Texas Tech deserves credit for the hard fight." Milbrandt paced the Florida offence and earned MVP honors. For the series, he hit .357 with a .438 on-base percentage, 1 home runs, 2 RBI and scored 5 runs. The Florida Gators will play against the Cincinnati Bearcats in the next round. Cincinnati won their series against the Iowa State Cyclones 2 games to 0. The Final 4 schedule will be announced after the Elite 8 finishes. |
